Here are some fun snapshots of Kailer. On top, he's eating his usual snack of rocks from our front porch. Four hours later, he's fallen asleep in the cart after a long walk back from Target (1.5 miles each way).
In the next picture he has discovered how to cleverly reach all of his toys. He has begun to master the art of climbing!

Happy 1st Birthday Kailer!
Kailer celebrated his very first birthday yesterday. He's such a big boy now! We played at the park and had dinner at a fun Cajun restraunt where he got to play with dough and watch them make the pizzas. Then we came home and had birthday cake. He didn't tear into it like the first one, but he sure thought it was yummy! He loves all his new toys and even went searching for more in the empty boxes this morning (see right). Kailer is learning more and more each day. He likes to repeat everything we say, and he just learned to tell us what the doggy says (whoo, whoo). Isn't he the cutest?!
Kailer loves to go to the many parks here in Park Slope. We meet new friends everyday. This is Kailer and his friend, Cole, playing in the leaves at the Garfield Tot Lot in Prospect Park. Cole is one day older than Kailer. Prospect Park is only 2 1/2 blocks from our house and is enourmous. There are many parks, a carousel, zoo, museum, and so much more. We watched a mini circus there this weekend.

We went to visit our friends, Toby & Rebecca, over the holiday weekend. They live in Rockville, Maryland, and are expecting their first baby in February. Kailer made friends with their English Bulldog Arnold. He would lay on the floor and let Arnie slime him. And he loved to take Arnold for walks. We spent a day in DC while we were there and saw a lot of the monuments and several museums. We even saw the Whitehouse, (from a distance), but George wasn't home anyways. We had a great time and can't wait to go back!
THE BACHMAN FAMILY
We finally arrived at our new home in Brooklyn, New York on August 13th. All of our boxes are unpacked now and it's beginning to feel like home. Michael started school on the 22nd and spends most of his time at NYU or in his room studying. Kailer and I spend a lot of our time walking. . . to the park, the grocery store, the post office. Since we no longer have a vehicle, we have learned to use our legs for all transportation. It takes a little longer to do everything, but it's good exercise. Kailer loves going to the park everyday, meeting all kinds of new people. But he misses all his family back home soooo much! We love it here, but are already looking forward to our next trip "home".
